Off track for a while
Finally got back on track the other night. Worked out in the basement one night and then, back to the gym last night for some cardio. Too bad it will be tough to keep up over Christmas break...

Workout - 12/3/08
Tonight was a Brick workout (Bike followed by Run). I did 20 minutes of each with a 2 minute jog cooldown at the end.
20 minutes on the stationary bike (7.2 miles)
20 minutes on the treadmill (2.33 miles)
Felt pretty good transitioning from one to the other. Need to get a swim workout in soon (it's been a while). More tomorrow.

Back to Training: Day 1
I have never seen Bally's as packed as it was today. I had to adjust my plan and do my biking on the horizontal stationary bike (which I hate). Here was the workout:
6 minute warm-up jog and stretch
8 miles on the stationary bike (21:14)
Upper Body Lifting
- Seated Row - 3 sets of 15 reps at 75lbs.
- Back pull downs - 3 sets of 15 reps at 87.5 lbs.
- Chest Press - 3 sets of 12 reps at 80 lbs.
Cool down jog and stretch

So much for day #1
A late/long dinner at Emilee's grandma's house left me with no time to hit the gym. No excuses tomorrow, I need to go in and get working.

Why am I blogging?
This blog is mainly for my personal record keeping. I am going to be attempting my first triathlon during this upcoming summer (2009). It is something that I have always had an interest in doing, but have never actually decided to go through with. My hope is that I will use this as my training log so that I not only have a written account of my progress and journey, but also to keep me motivated to get to the gym and do something to benefit my training.
Despite having been working out for the past few months, lets just consider tomorrow day 1...
